This comes at a good time, because I was having trouble coming up with a topic for today. Dawn, over at Twisted Sister, tagged me to do the 123 Book Meme. This is a good meme which gives you an idea of what types of books your fellow bloggers are reading. Dawn was tagged twice, and the first came from Ruby @ A Piece of Peace and her book was entitled: “The Mystic Heart†by Wayne Teasdale. The second tag came from Ann @ A Nice Place in The Sun and she is currently reading: “S Is For Silence” by Sue Grafton. Dawn’s book is “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini.
Here are the Rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book ( of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people & post a comment here once you post it to your blog, so I can come see.
I’m currently reading two books, one of which I talked about here a couple of days ago, so I’m not going to use that one. The second book I’m reading is Ken Follett’s “The Pillars of the Earth.” It is a historical novel about Philip, a monk driven to build the world’s greatest Gothic cathedral.
Page 123 and the fifth sentence: “So, it’s just a traveling knight or a tinker every day or two.”
The next three sentences: “Then on holy days, when people come from all over the country to hear the services in the cathedral, we gather farthings galore.”
“It seems to me we might man the bridge on holy days only, and give you a fire out of the proceeds,” said Philip.
Paul looked anxious. “Don’t say anything to Remigius, will you?”

Lee – I have read Pillars of the Earth three times in the last ten years. It ranks as my top favorite book of all time. I waited patiently for Ken Follett to write something of the same quality again and had just given up when he finally came out with the sequel “World Without End”. Can you believe it took 18 years between books? It’s next on my list….
Thanks for doing the meme
