Drowsey: The whole note says, “Posted, Private Property, Hunting, Fishing, Trapping or Trespassing For Any Purpose Is Strictly Forbidden. Violators Will Be Prosecuted” — Luckily, I got away before the fuzz arrived!
Jaffer: The building doesn’t exist any more. It was demolished a few months after I took my pictures as part of a highway widening project. I’m feel fortunate to have gotten my shots.
Lee — Colors are so rich and the structure is so textured and weathered. One of my favorites. You know, I still use your wonderful pink house as my laptop desktop background (the one you’re using here for your default avatar). I love to see it every morning when I boot up.
Kathy: I’m very flattered, but mostly, I’m happy that you are enjoying the pink house. The picture was taken on the island of Grenada and there were hurricane damaged houses all around that one. It was one of the few that either had very little damage, or the owners had enough money to quickly do repairs.
I was a little surprised at the reception this week’s picture has received. It is one of my favorites because of the abstract nature of it. I also like the many textures that come from the weathered wood and the peeling paint. I have a lot of this kind of photograph, but not everyone finds them appealing. Almost universally, everyone seems to like “Posted” and that makes me happy.
nice shot the colours come through amazingly…

Robert: One of the reasons that I like old buildings is the texture and color that you can find. I think they make great images.
Linda: Thank you. I like the abstract quality of some of my pictures of old buildings.
Love the detail on this picture – absolutely gorgeous!

Indeed it is beautiful. That rusted door-lock provides so much more colour !
Ever try putting light-blub in that socket and see if it works

I love the orange sign against the old wood. Wonderful shot. Suitable for framing.

Mimi: Thank you. I’m going to see if this one would turn out good enough to enter at the State Fair this year.

That photo kinda creeps me out…like terrible things happen behind that door or something.
