There’s something special about sunrises and sunsets over water. More often than not, when I’ve been able to make it up before sunrise, and am near the ocean or a large body of water, it is peaceful and serene. It is just a wonderful way to start a day, especially when there are a lot of colors in the sky to look at, which is usually when there are clouds on the horizon.
This past weekend, I was in South Carolina, near Charleston, visiting my son and attending his graduation from Naval Nuclear Power School. I took advantage of the opportunity to visit Isle of Palms, going to the marina just before sunrise. As usual, I had my camera with me and the result is the picture you see above. I hope you like it as much as I do. Even if I do say so myself, this is one of my best shots.

Love your pictures of Charleston, SC, still one of the most beautiful cities in the South. The Marina Sunrise is beautiful and soothing to my soul.
